Un tuffo nel Medioevo della Valtenesi, dal castello di Padenghe a quello di Drugolo, attraverso un percorso che alterna zone boschive, ricche di specie tipiche della fascia collinare prealpina quali rovere, tiglio, acero e nocciolo, ad aree di vigneti, uliveti, campi di orzo e girasole, che armonizzano con l'ambiente naturale e conferiscono ulteriore bellezza al paesaggio.

Come arrivarci.
Venendo da Brescia e lasciata alle spalle Bedizzole, si prosegue in direzione Padenghe e, dopo il primo cartello che segnala l'ingresso nel paese, prima del curvone a destra, seguire l'indicazione Pratello. A quel punto si imbocca la stradina in salita e, dopo il viale di cipressi, si procede fino a che sulla destra non si vede il portone d'ingresso dell'agriturismo Pratello, nel cui parcheggio si può lasciare l'automobile.

La passeggiata

A chi è adatta.
E' un percorso accessibile a tutti e con poche difficoltà, che alterna tratti sterrati, asfalto e sentieri di sottobosco: consigliamo l'utilizzo di comode scarpe da passeggio.

Quanto dura.
Il percorso che vi stiamo per descrivere si completa in un paio d'ore.

La camminata.
Da via Levrini, appena fuori dal parcheggio dell'agriturismo, lasciata sulla sinistra la chiesetta di Pratello, si scende imboccando la seconda viuzza non asfaltata sulla destra. Da li' si cammina per un po' tra i campi e al primo bivio si gira a destra in via Pralongo, percorrendola tutta fino allo stop, dal quale già si scorge il castello di Padenghe, raggiungibile svoltando prima a destra e poi subito a sinistra. Recuperate le energie con una sosta al castello, si ritorna indietro andando a sinistra su via Monte, che conduce su via Gramsci. Salendo per un centinaio di metri, si incontra l'indicazione S. Emiliano, che conduce alla chiesetta romanica (nella foto qui accanto). Ammirata la chiesa, si prosegue per la viuzza sterrata fino a sbucare su uno stradone asfaltato che, dopo aver girato a sinistra, va percorso per un breve tratto e, non appena si scorge sulla destra una casa con un vivaio, va abbandonato, imboccando la viuzza che sta appena sotto la casa. Si prosegue poi fino all'indicazione via Calvino, nella quale ci si immette percorrendola tutta. Si passa attraverso una cascina preannunciata da un vialetto di ulivi e si avanza ancora per i campi, entrando nel bosco. Superato l'agriturismo la Pampa, si procede in discesa finchè non appare, maestoso, Castel Drugolo e si cammina fin sotto le sue mura per poterlo ammirare, anche se solo dal di fuori. Il tracciato qui è terminato; per tornare alla macchina si ripercorre il tragitto all'indietro fino alla casa col vivaio, e da li' si svolta a sinistra continuando per lo stradone fino alla rotonda, dove si prende la salita con l'indicazione Pratello.

Che cosa vedere

Il castello di Padenghe.
Come molti altri paesi della Valtenesi, anche Padenghe è dominato da un castello posto su un colle, dal quale si può godere di una vista suggestiva, con Sirmione in primo piano. L'edificio (foto qui sopra) è stato costruito tra il IX e il X secolo, al tempo delle invasioni ungariche, su antichi ruderi di epoca romana; quello che oggi ammiriamo è un rifacimento operato tra i XIII e il XIV secolo. Anticamente il castello era circondato da un fossato il cui riempimento è stato ultimato nel 1959. All'interno si trovano abitazioni poste su tre file parallele costruite, si pensa, insieme alle mura.

Castel Drugolo.
Altro oggetto di grande interesse è Castel Averoldi, oggi di proprietà del barone Lanni della Quara, meglio noto come castel Drugolo, dall'omonima località in cui sorge, nel comune di Lonato. Costruito a fine trecento, mostra un alto muro di scarpa, ponte levatoio e merlatura. La sua eleganza simmetrica è stata esaltata dagli accurati restauri eseguiti nel 1934.

La chiesa.
Non perde il suo fascino, anche se si può vedere solo dall'esterno, la chiesetta di S. Emiliano (nella foto qui accanto), assegnabile al XII secolo. La semplicità del suo stile romanico fa tutt'uno con il bucolico paesaggio circostante.

Il periodo migliore.
La primavera, tra aprile e giugno (massimo primi di luglio), è il momento migliore per ammirare il sottobosco in un susseguirsi di fioriture. In autunno si possono apprezzare i non meno suggestivi colori del fogliame delle macchie boschive.

Dove mangiare.
Alle pendici del castello di Padenghe (lo si vede proprio sotto), un piccolo chiosco, in una splendida posizione, dà la possibilità di consumare piatti freddi di affettati, formaggi e insalate, accompagnati da vino rosso locale. Oltre al chioschetto, gli agriturismi di Pratello e La Pampa, indicati nella nostra guida ai ristoranti, offrono anche la possibilità di fare uno spuntino durante la passeggiata.

 

From the castle of Padenghe to that of Drugolo

A dip in the Middle Ages of Valtenesi, from the castle of Padenghe to that of Drugolo, through a path that alternates wooded areas, rich in species typical of the pre-Alpine hilly area such as oak, lime, maple and hazel, to areas of vineyards, olive groves, fields of barley and sunflower, which harmonize with the natural environment and give further beauty to the landscape.

 

How to get there

Coming from Brescia and leaving Bedizzole behind, continue towards Padenghe and, after the first sign indicating the entrance to the town, before the bend on the right, follow the signs for Pratello. At that point, take the small uphill road and, after the cypress-lined road, continue until you see the entrance door of the Pratello farmhouse on the right, where you can leave your car in the parking lot.

 

The walk

Who is it suitable for?

It is a path accessible to all and with few difficulties, which alternates dirt, asphalt and undergrowth paths: we recommend the use of comfortable walking shoes.

 

How long does it take?

It takes about a couple of hours.

 

The walk

From via Levrini, just outside the parking lot of the farm, leaving the church of Pratello on the left, go down and take the second unpaved lane on the right. From there you walk for a while through the fields and at the first crossroads turn right into via Pralongo, following it all the way to the stop sign, from which you can already see the castle, which can be reached by first turning right and then immediately left. Recover your energy with a stop at the castle, go back by going left onto via Monte, which leads to via Gramsci. Going up for a hundred meters, you will find the indication S. Emiliano, which leads to the Romanesque church. Continue along the dirt road until you come out on an asphalted road which, after turning left, must be traveled for a short distance and, as soon as you see a house with a greenhouse on the right, it must be abandoned, taking the lane that is just below the house. Then continue up to the indication via Calvino follow it to its end. You will pass through a farmhouse with a driveway of olive trees and continue through the fields, entering the woods. After the farm La Pampa, proceed downhill until the majestic Castel Drugolo appears and you walk right under its walls to be able to admire it, even if only from the outside. The track here is finished; to return to the car, retrace the journey backwards to the house with the greenhouse, and from there turn left continuing along the main road to the roundabout, where you take the uphill road with the indication Pratello.

 

What to see

Padenghe Castle

Like many other towns in Valtenesi, Padenghe is also dominated by a castle located on a hill, from which you can enjoy a suggestive view, with Sirmione in the foreground. The stronghold  was built between the 9th and 10th centuries, at the time of the Hungarian invasions, on ancient Roman ruins; what we admire today is a reconstruction carried out between the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries. In ancient times the castle was surrounded by a moat whose filling was completed in 1959. Inside there are houses placed on three parallel rows that were built, it is believed, together with the walls.

 

Drugolo Castle

Another object of great interest is Castel Averoldi, now owned by Baron Lanni della Quara, better known as Castel Drugolo, from the homonymous locality in which it stands, in the town of Lonato. Built at the end of the 14th century, it shows a high scarp wall, drawbridge and battlements. Its symmetrical elegance was enhanced by the careful restorations carried out in 1934.

 

The church

The small church of S. Emiliano (12th century) doesn’t lose its charm, even if it can only be seen from the outside. The simplicity of its Romanesque style is one with the surrounding bucolic landscape. Simply breathtaking.

 

The best time

Spring, between April and June (maximum early July), is the best time to admire the undergrowth in a succession of blooms. In autumn you can appreciate the evocative colors of the foliage of the woodlands.

 

Where to eat

On the slopes of the Padenghe castle (you can see it just below), a small kiosk, in a splendid position, gives the opportunity to have cold cuts, cheeses and salads, perhaps enjoyed best with some local red wine. In addition to the kiosk, the farmhouses of Pratello and La Pampa also offer the chance of having a snack during the walk.

Ein Bad im Mittelalter von Valtenesi, von der Burg von Padenghe bis zu der von Drugolo. Der Weg, der Waldgebiete abwechselt, ist reich an typischen voralpinen Baumarten wie Eiche, Limette, Ahorn und Hasel, Weinbergen, Olivenhainen, Gersten- und Sonnenblumenfeldern, die mit der natürlichen Umgebung harmonieren und der Landschaft weitere Schönheit verleihen.

 

Wie man dorthin kommt?

Wenn Sie aus Brescia kommen und Bedizzole hinter sich lassen, fahren Sie weiter in Richtung Padenghe. Folgen Sie nach dem ersten Schild, das den Einfahrt zur Stadt anzeigt, vor der Kurve rechts den Schildern nach Pratello. An diesem Punkt nehmen Sie die kleine Straße bergauf und fahren nach der von Zypressen gesäumten Straße weiter, bis Sie rechts die Eingangstür des Pratello-Bauernhauses sehen, wo Sie Ihr Auto auf dem Parkplatz abstellen können.

 

Das Wandern

Für wen ist es geeignet?

Es ist ein für alle zugänglicher Weg mit wenigen Schwierigkeiten, der zwischen Schmutz-, Asphalt- und Unterholzwegen wechselt: wir empfehlen die Verwendung bequemer Wanderschuhe.

 

Wie lange dauert es?

Es dauert ungefähr ein paar Stunden.

 

Das Wandern

Von der Via Levrini, direkt vor dem Parkplatz des Hofes, verlassen Sie die Kirche von Pratello auf der linken Seite. Gehen Sie hinunter und nehmen Sie die zweite unbefestigte Straße auf der rechten Seite. Von dort gehen Sie eine Weile durch die Felder und biegen an der ersten Kreuzung rechts in die Via Pralongo ein, folgen ihr bis zum Stoppschild, von dem aus Sie bereits die Burg sehen können. Um die Burg zu erreichen, biegen Sie recht and dann sofor links ab. Stellen Sie Ihre Energie bei einem Besuch der Burg wieder her und gehen Sie zurück auf die Via Monte, die zur Via Gramsci führt. Wenn Sie hundert Meter hoch gehen, finden Sie den Hinweis S. Emiliano, der zur romanischen Kirche führt. Folgen Sie der unbefestigten Straße, bis Sie auf eine asphaltierte Straße kommen, die nach dem Abbiegen nach links ein kurzes Stück befahren werden muss. Sobald Sie ein Haus mit einem Gewächshaus auf der rechten Seite sehen, muss es verlassen werden und die Fahrspur nehmen das ist direkt unter dem Haus. Der Track hier ist fertig; Um zum Auto zurückzukehren, folgen Sie der Rückfahrt zum Haus mit dem Gewächshaus. Von dort biegen Sie links ab und folgen der Hauptstraße bis zum Kreisverkehr, wo Sie die Bergaufstraße mit der Angabe Pratello nehmen.

 

Was zu sehen

Padenghe Schloss

Wie viele andere Städte in Valtenesi wird auch Padenghe von einer Burg dominiert, die sich auf einem Hügel befindet und von dem aus Sie eine beeindruckende Aussicht genießen können. Im Vordergrund steht Sirmione. Die Festung wurde zwischen dem 9. und 10. Jahrhundert zur Zeit der ungarischen Invasionen auf antiken römischen Ruinen errichtet. Was wir heute bewundern, ist eine Rekonstruktion zwischen dem 13. und 14. Jahrhundert. In der Antike war die Burg von einem Wassergraben umgeben, dessen Befüllung 1959 abgeschlossen wurde. Im Inneren befinden sich Häuser in drei parallelen Reihen, die vermutlich zusammen mit den Mauern gebaut wurden.

 

Drugolo Schloss

Ein weiteres Objekt von großem Interesse ist Castel Averoldi, das heute Baron Lanni della Quara, besser bekannt als Castel Drugolo, aus der gleichnamigen Ortschaft in der Stadt Lonato. Es wurde Ende des 14. Jahrhunderts erbaut und zeigt eine hohe Steilwand, eine Zugbrücke und Zinnen. Seine symmetrische Eleganz wurde durch die sorgfältigen Restaurierungen von 1934 verstärkt.

 

Die Kirche

Die kleine Kirche S. Emiliano (12. Jahrhundert) verliert ihren Charme nicht, auch wenn sie nur von außen gesehen werden kann. Die Einfachheit seines romanischen Stils ist eins mit der umgebenden bukolischen Landschaft. Einfach atemberaubend.

 

Die schönste Zeit

Der Frühling zwischen April und Juni (maximal Anfang Juli) ist die beste Zeit, um das Unterholz in einer Reihe von Blüten zu bewundern. Im Herbst können Sie die stimmungsvollen Farben des Laubes der Wälder genießen.

 

Wo sollen wir essen

An den Hängen des Padenghe-Schlosses (Sie können es gleich unten sehen) bietet ein kleiner Kiosk in herrlicher Lage die Möglichkeit, Aufschnitt, Käse und Salate zu genießen, die Sie vielleicht besser mit einheimischem Rotwein genießen können. Neben dem Kiosk bieten die Bauernhäuser von Pratello und La Pampa auch die Möglichkeit, während des Spaziergangs einen Snack zu sich zu nehmen.
