Secondo la tradizione, nel 1527, sulla strada che da Padenghe porta a Soiano, in località Torricella, la Madonna sarebbe apparsa al figlio di mastro Mattia Vagolino. Un’altra tradizione, riporta che la Madonna apparve a una giovane muta, che stava pascolando le oche in quell’angolo di campagna. Fatto sta che i fedeli accorsero numerosi e si iniziò presto a costruire una cappella in ricordo della miracolosa apparizione, nonostante una certa contrarietà da parte del vescovo di Verona. La chiesa della Beata Vergine della Torricella si presenta con la facciata a capanna, con rosone centrale. Alla fine del Seicento viene aggiunto il portico a tre arcate, sostenute da quattro eleganti colonne in marmo bianco, su basamento in pietra grigia. Nel 1812, a seguito dell’editto di Saint Claude, con cui Napoleone, per motivi igienico-sanitari, vietava le sepolture nei centri abitati, il cimitero di Padenghe viene trasferito a fianco della chiesa.

According to tradition, in 1527 on the road that leads from Padenghe to Soiano, in the area of Torricella, the Madonna appeared to the son of master Mattia Vagolino. The fact is that the faithful flocked in large numbers and a chapel was soon started to be built in memory of the miraculous apparition, despite some opposition from the bishop of Verona. The church of the Beata Vergine della Torricella has a gabled façade, with a central rose window. At the end of the seventeenth century the portico with three arches was added, supported by four elegant columns in white marble, on a gray stone base. In 1812, following the edict of Saint Claude, with which Napoleon forbade burials in inhabited centers for hygienic-sanitary reasons, the cemetery was moved to the side of the church.

Der Überlieferung nach erschien die Madonna 1527 auf dem Weg von Padenghe nach Soiano in der Gegend von Torricella dem Sohn von Meister Mattia Vagolino.
